Dr. Innocent Ntiasagwe

DR. INNOCENT NTIASAGWE was born and raised in Nigeria as the second of four children of the late Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Bede Anyaelezu Ntiasagwe (Retired) and Madam Rose Nwaobiara-Nwosu Ntiasagwe, from Umueze Amaimo in the Ikeduru local government area of Imo State. Growing up, he didn’t experience a typical childhood and struggled to relate to other children, often acting more mature for his age. After high school, feeling the weight of his family’s high expectations, he moved to Lagos. There, he worked as a waybill clerk in a shipping company. At 25, he took a leap of faith and moved to the United States to pursue higher education. Two years later, financial challenges forced him to withdraw from college. However, driven by personal determination and perseverance, he earned an Associate Degree in Human Services in 1996, a bachelor’s Degree in political science in 1998, and a master’s Degree in Counseling psychology in 2001. In 2020, he obtained a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Nova Southeastern University, Florida. Dr. Ntiasagwe began his career as a Health Educator and Mental Health Professional Counselor with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health.

He served as the Programs Director of the Mental Health Association of South Carolina, a nonprofit organization. With a passion for youth welfare, he joined the staff at Allen University as a Residential Director, later becoming the Dean of Students and Development Services. He also served as an adjunct professor at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina. His career path then led him to the South Carolina Department of Corrections, where he has held various positions, including Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), Program Administrator of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), MHP III, Program Manager, and Senior Consultant for Programs, Reentry Rehab, and Services. He currently serves as a Team Leader of the Situation Controller (SITCON) Special Squad. His work ethic is exemplary; he is consistent, firm, and maintains a calm demeanor.

His common sense, judgment, and humility are highly admired by his peers. Deeply caring and compassionate, Dr. Ntiasagwe is also a community organizer. His efforts extend beyond his family, reaching out to the less privileged in his community, especially during the early part of the pandemic when he coordinated relief efforts. Married for 29 years to his loving wife, Dr. Charity Ezioma Ntiasagwe, they share five wonderful children. In his spare time, he enjoys dancing to various kinds of music, exercising, playing football, and playing tennis. Raised in the Christian faith, it has been his guiding light through tough times. He firmly believes, “What God Cannot Do, Does Not Exist.” To God Be The Glory.
